It looks like Western New York is getting a much-needed break from Mother Nature today.

According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Buffalo, it looks like the city of Buffalo and the surrounding areas will not get any more snow today.

Yesterday forecasters were calling for another round of lake effect snow today but it looks that line won’t develop into anything significant.

It was a record weekend for snow, especially for the southtowns where Orchard Park received 77 inches of snow over the weekend. The lack of snow falling today is a much-needed break for crews trying to clear roads, driveways, and sidewalks.

Due to the effort needed to clear roads and sidewalks, many schools in the southtowns have already canceled school for Monday.

Many people are hoping to be back to normal before Thanksgiving and Mother Nature might be providing some help this week. We are expected to see sunshine and highs in the 40s which should help melt some of the snow.

EXTRA: FOUR TOWNS IN NEW YORK GOT OVER 70 INCHES OF SNOW THIS WEEKEND

Looking ahead, it looks like more snow is possible late Friday evening into next weekend. Hopefully, the cleanup from this storm will be completed by then.
