Watch Chris Martin honour Liam Payne, Marianne Faithfull and more with Coldplay’s ‘All My Love’ for Grammys In Memoriam segment
Coldplay’s Chris Martin performed a heartfelt version of ‘All My Love’ at the 2025 Grammys‘ In Memoriam segment, paying tribute to musicians who passed away over the last year.
Among those whose lives were celebrated at the ceremony last night (February 2) was former One Direction star Liam Payne, who tragically died on October 16 last year, after he fell from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
His death rocked the pop world and has triggered discussions about better protections for young musicians, with fans and high-profile industry figures alike coming forward to campaign for better safeguarding of those in the public eye.
At the awards, a video was shown of Payne during his boyband days. While Payne’s photo appeared on screen, Martin began playing Coldplay ballad ‘All My Love’ accompanied by a string section and young guitarist Grace Bowers, who added two emotive solos to the song.

Others who were remembered at the show included The Allman Brothers’ Dicky Betts, Garth Hudson, Toby Keith, and Rich Homie Quan and Marianne Faithfull.
A stalwart of the Swinging London’ arts and music scene in the 1960s, Faithfull became one of the leading female artists during the British Invasion era, and died last week, aged 78.
Before the Grammys, tributes poured out for the late singer, with Blur‘s Graham Coxon, The Charlatans‘ Tim Burgess, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Ed Harcourt, Warren Ellis, Ronnie Wood, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sir Paul McCartney, Morrissey, Mick Jagger, Metallica and more all penning personal tributes.
Other emotional moments on the night included, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars performing a touching tribute to Los Angeles in the wake of the devastating wildfires earlier this year. Stevie Wonder also led a tribute to the late Quincy Jones alongside Janelle Monáe, which was introduced by Will Smith.
