St. Vincent reveals she has wife and daughter during Grammys award speech: “We’ve kept it under wraps”
St. Vincent revealed that she is married and has a daughter at the 2025 Grammy Awards last night (February 2).
The singer-songwriter picked up three awards during the ceremony, including Best Alternative Music Album for ‘All Born Screaming‘, Best Alternative Music Performance with ‘Flea’ and Best Rock Song for ‘Broken Man’.
During her acceptance speech for Best Rock Song, she thanked her “beautiful family – my wife Leah and our beautiful daughter.”

“We’ve kept it under wraps,” she said, while also joking “the child is young, just to be clear, the child is young,” and she hadn’t been harbouring a secret for years.
St. Vincent also spoke out about this year’s LGBTQ nominees, adding: “There have always been queer people in the history of the world and especially in music, and so I think there’s a bunch of queer people celebrated this year especially. And that’s great, of course it’s great. Empathy and humanity, let’s go.”
Reviewing her recent album, NME awarded the record four stars and said “Annie Clark has peeled away the layers of artifice to reveal her most unique identity yet: herself.”
Other winners on the night included Beyoncé, who won the coveted Album Of The Year gong at the 67th ceremony in LA.
Kendrick Lamar walked away as the biggest winner, clinching five awards including Record of The Year and Song Of The Year for ‘Not Like Us’. He also took home the Grammys for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for ‘Not Like Us’, which also won Best Music Video.
Elsewhere in the show, Shakira dedicated her award to her “immigrant brothers and sisters”.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars also performed a touching tribute to Los Angeles in the wake of the devastating wildfires earlier this year. Stevie Wonder also led a tribute to the late Quincy Jones alongside Janelle Monáe, which was introduced by Will Smith. You can see a list of the winners in full here.
In other news, St. Vincent recently joined the surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, for the LA fires benefit concert FireAid. The trio performed Nirvana ‘Breed’ with Clark on vocals.
