Kacey Musgraves has gone viral for her reaction to Beyoncé’s ‘Best Country’ win at the 2025 Grammys.

The ceremony for the 67th Grammys took place last night (February 2), and saw Beyoncé win numerous awards including the coveted Album Of The Year gong.

One huge moment came as she took home the Best Country Album award for her ‘Cowboy Carter’ LP – beating off tough competition from Chris Stapleton, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson and Kacey Musgraves.

As Bey took to the stage, the camera turned to both Wilson and Musgraves, who stood clapping for the singer as her victory was announced. However, some viewers at home were quick to suggest that they weren’t too happy about the result.

“Kacey Musgraves is pissed that Beyonce beat her for best country album, look at her face expression,” one wrote on X, sharing footage of the singer. Another shared a similar clip showing both singers, writing: “The facial expressions of Lainey Wilson and Kacey Musgraves when Beyoncé won Country Album of The Year”.

“Is Kacey Musgraves mad that Beyoncé won? She sure looks it,” a third wrote, while someone else questioned: “Why does Kacey Musgraves look salty??”

The night marked a huge milestone for Beyoncé as, upon the nominations being shared, she was confirmed as becoming the most Grammy-nominated artist in the history of the award show.

She was previously tied with her husband Jay-Z for a total of 88 nominations but following the announcement of the 67th annual Grammy Awards noms, the ‘Crazy In Love’ singer brought that total up to 99.

Just before yesterday’s ceremony, the singer shared details of a 2025 tour to celebrate ‘Cowboy Carter’.

The country record scored a five-star review from NME, which read: “Even if interpreted only on the grounds of artistic spectacle, it’s an undeniable thrill to see her swing so big on a project that dares her to be so intimate and vocal-focussed while making way for country’s up-and-comers too.”

The album also clinched the seventh spot in NME‘s 50 Best Albums of 2024 list, and ’16 Carriages’ was named the eighth Best Song of 2024.

At the Grammys yesterday, Musgraves wasn’t the only artist seemingly affected by Bey’s victories, as both Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan also took to social media to make a lighthearted nod to their losses on the night.

The two were up for the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance award for their track ‘Cowboys Cry Too’, but ultimately lost out to Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus’ ‘II Most Wanted’.

In footage of them backstage, Ballerini filmed herself asking Kahan: “What does it feel like to lose three awards for the same song?” To which the latter quipped: “You weirdly start to kind of like it. I’m on a losing high right now – woohoo!”

Elsewhere last night, Kendrick Lamar walked away as the biggest winner, taking five awards including Record of The Year and Song Of The Year for ‘Not Like Us’. He also took home the Grammys for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for ‘Not Like Us’, which also won Best Music Video.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars performed a touching tribute to Los Angeles in the wake of the devastating wildfires earlier this year, and Stevie Wonder also led a tribute to the late Quincy Jones alongside Janelle Monáe, which was introduced by Will Smith You can see a full list of the winners here.
