I ranked 6 brands of frozen tater tots. Only one had the flavor and texture I was looking for.

Tater tots hold a nostalgic place in many hearts, from middle-school lunches to late-night snacks. Recently, I compared six popular grocery-store brands: Sonic, Signature Select, Ore-Ida, Alexia Foods, McCain, and Cascadian Farm, focusing on the most basic flavors available. While Sonic and Ore-Ida had crispy exteriors, they lacked flavor, leaving much to be desired. Cascadian Farm’s organic spud puppies were light but underwhelming in taste, and McCain’s quick-cooking tots tasted more like latkes than classic tater tots. Signature Select’s rounds provided a decent texture but also fell short on flavor. In stark contrast, Alexia Foods' crispy seasoned potato puffs stood out with their enjoyable garlic, pepper, and russet potato flavors, securing the top spot. If you’re in search of the best frozen tots, Alexia’s offering is certainly worth trying!
