The City of Buffalo got over 10 inches of snow over the weekend and with roads and sidestreets still in the process of being plowed and cleared of snow, garbage trucks won’t be able to safely move in the city to pick up the trash and recyclables.

EXTRA: THE CITY OF BUFFALO RECEIVED RECORD SNOWFALL

The good news is that the weather should work in favor of the workers trying to clear the snow since we will see plenty of sunshine and a bit of warmup. With temperatures warming up into the 40s, the snow could start to melt and make the cleanup easier for the crews.

With the warmup, garbage pickup and recycling will resume their normal routine on Tuesday.

Trash collection and recycling could also be impacted in several towns south of the City of Buffalo. As of Sunday afternoon, a driving ban was still in place in Hamburg, Orchard Park, and Evans, and that could lead to trash collection being postponed in those towns.

EXTRA: HUNDREDS OF TICKETS ISSUED DURING SNOWSTORM DRIVING BAN

You should double-check with your town or village to make sure your trash collection is still happening on the usual day.
