A Mumsnet thread has raised the question of exactly how many fish fingers adults should be eating for their lunch or dinner. The thread started by user, Boooooot, asked, ‘What’s an adult size portion of fish fingers??’.
She said it was an important question adding: “This is causing ww3 in my house currently”
There have since been around 1,000 comments to date, with answers ranging from adults eating two to 10 fish fingers per sitting – it seems the nation are torn. One fish finger fan commented: “I would have said two was enough!”
Not everyone was in agreement, with some taking to the thread to say, “Two? Two fish fingers for a full-sized human being?! I’d laugh if someone gave me two fish fingers!” Whilst another fan explained “6-8 in our house, teenagers and adults. With peas or baked beans (and sometimes mash).
“Or 4 in a sandwich (with cucumber and brown sauce). We’re all a healthy weight but 3 or 4 wouldn’t touch the sides!”
PickAChew added: “3 for a child, 5 for an adult. 4 in a sarnie for lunch” Carefulcalculator added: “Four is a small adult portion, I would prefer six but would restrain myself.”
Thatshallotbaby said: “I often have 6 or 8 tbh”
