ECCLESHILL are 10th in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division after a 2-1 home win over bottom-placed Yorkshire Amateur.

The Eagles swooped to a 2-0 half-time lead thanks to strikes from Jack Crook on 25 minutes and Matthew Sykes on 43 minutes.

But there were anxious last few moments for United as the visitors Amateur grabbed what would prove to be a consolation goal on 85 minutes through Niall Bent.

Silsden saw their five-game winning run in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division ended with a 3-1 defeat to high-flying Garforth.

First half goals from Dan Coupland, Nick Thompson and Sam Barker gave the Miners a 3-0 lead.

With Silsden chasing the game, Talent Ndlovu curled in his fifth goal of the season with a wonderful free-kick but it wasn’t enough to bring the visiting Cobbydalers back into the tie.

But there were not any home comforts for 15th-placed Thackley, meanwhile, who fell to a 2-1 loss to Handsworth.

The visitors took control through Leon Howarth on 17 minutes and Jonathan Hill on 78 minutes, before Aiden Chippendale hit Thackley’s consolation two minutes before time for the hosts.

Albion Sports crashed to a heavy defeat in the Premier Division despite taking an early lead.

Robbie Fox drew first blood for Sports on four minutes at Knaresborough Town, but the latter side quickly took control winning the match 4-1.

Dominant Campion extended their lead to 11 points in Northern Counties East League Premier Division with their latest victory.

They had to be patient and wait until the 86th minute when a Daniel Illingworth strike gave them the points in a 1-0 win over Armthorpe Welfare.
