Diddy reportedly hospitalised while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges

Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly undergone treatment in hospital ahead of his upcoming sex trafficking trial.

Last September, Diddy was arrested and charged with crimes including sexual trafficking and racketeering. He has since been held in a federal jail in his hometown awaiting trial, which is set to begin on May 5.

Sources speaking to The New York Post alleged he was transported from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to a nearby hospital “under cover of darkness” last week.

It was claimed he was taken for an MRI scan late Thursday (January 30), which was authorised as his “knee was bothering him”, with sources citing long-standing issues following his running the New York marathon in 2003.

The visit was purportedly done late at night to avoid what a law enforcement source referred to as “chaos” given the high-profile nature of his ongoing case, throughout which Combs has denied all allegations against him.

He did not stay overnight at the hospital and was taken back to his cell after the scan. A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson later told The Post: “For privacy, safety, and security reasons we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for anyone in our custody to include medical status or medical trips.”

Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo also told TMZ he could not comment on “anything related to prisoner movements”, and would not comment on “anything related to possible medical issues.”

His legal team also recently claimed that videos allegedly from the hip-hop star’s “freak-off” sex parties will instead “confirm Mr. Combs’s innocence” because they show sexual activity among “consenting adults.”

Diddy has been denied bail on multiple occasions while awaiting trial, with the first denial coming after he offered a $50million (£38.4million) bond. He was subsequently reportedly placed on suicide watch.

Combs was denied bail for the third time last December, with the judge declaring that “the government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community”.

The month prior, another wave of sexual misconduct lawsuits were filed against him by five more anonymous accusers. Three men and two women claim they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the rapper in incidents in New York and Miami dating back to 2001.

Those allegations followed an accusation made in October that Diddy allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted a 10-year-old boy in 2005. Before that, it was reported that over 120 people had come forward with new allegations – including 25 minors.

More recently, he was accused of threatening to eat the flesh of one of the contestants on his 2000s music competition show Making The Band.

New documentary The Making of a Bad Boy was released last month on Peacock, and explores Diddy’s early life and career, featuring interviews with people close to the rap mogul. In the film, former Bad Boy Records signee Sara Rivers accuses Combs of threatening her and her bandmates during her time on the show between 2002 and 2004.

“When he got angry with one of my band members, he said, ‘You make me so mad I want to eat your flesh,’” Rivers said. “And then he said to another one of my band members, he said, ‘You’re rolling your eyes, I could go get a crackhead and pay them $20 to smack the shit out of you.’ Who says that? That’s crazy.”

The 47-year-old also accused Diddy of groping her during filming: “He touched me in a place that he shouldn’t have. That was inappropriate. I felt intimidated, I felt like, ‘Oh my god, what the heck just happened just now?’”

The documentary also sees Combs accused of having some sort of involvement in Notorious B.I.G’s murder back in 1997 by former bodyguard Gene Deal, with numerous people also coming forward to support accusations of Diddy abusing his late partner and children’s mother Kim Porter.

Diddy’s legal team have denied the claims explored in The Making of a Bad Boy: “This documentary recycles and perpetuates the same lies and conspiracy theories that have been slung against Mr. Combs for months.”

His lawyer continued (per Variety): “It is disappointing to see NBC and Peacock rolling in the same mud as unethical tabloid reporters. By providing a platform for proven liars and opportunists to make false criminal accusations, the documentary is irresponsible journalism of the worst kind.”
